Conflict is inevitable, however how it is handled can determine if the outcome is positive or negative. In the workplace, conflicts can be extremely stressful, taking a significant toll on productivity. Conflict in a personal relationship can rapidly become very unpleasant, stressful, and lead to resentment. Conflict resolution can lead to higher functioning, productive and satisfying relationships in all aspects of life.

The Neutral Corner Mediation provides an independent, impartial, skilled communicator and trained dispute resolution specialist who can assist disputing parties in reaching their own mutually acceptable settlement of issues in dispute and a chance to resolve and move forward from conflict.

Dispute Resolution, Conciliation and Mediation Services

Mediation is a structured Alternate Dispute Resolution process in which an independent third party, or ‘Mediator’, assists people in dispute to identify and assess options, negotiate an agreement, and to resolve issues or disputes.

 

Key elements of mediation:

  • Assisted by an impartial skilled facilitator

  • Voluntary (on the part of the clients)

  • Confidential

  • Informal and flexible

  • Decisions based on consensus

  • Focused on the future to achieve a ‘gain-gain’ result and resolve conflict.

 

Conciliation is a process where an independent third party, the conciliator, helps people in a dispute to identify the disputed issues, develop options, consider alternatives, and try to reach an agreement.  

 

A conciliator may have an advisory role on the content of the dispute or the outcome of its resolution, however, does not have a determinative role. The conciliator may advise, make suggestions for terms of settlement, give expert advice on likely settlement terms, and may actively encourage the participants to reach an agreement.

 

Conciliation may be voluntary, court ordered or required as part of a contract. It is often part of a court or government agency process.

 

The Neutral Corner Mediation provides a highly skilled, trained mediator, conciliation and dispute resolution facilitator, accredited Mediator under the Australian National Mediation Accreditation System.

Conflict Coaching and Mentoring

Conflict coaching is a highly effective targeted strategy to build knowledge, skills, and an individual’s capacity to manage interpersonal disputes more effectively. It is most useful and works well when someone wants to explore what may be behind a conflict they are experiencing, and how they may be able to change the dynamics and move towards a positive resolution.
